Welcome to the dark side of Silver Moon City
Welcome to hell
In Silver Moon City there is a space that even the police dare not venture. This is often referred to as the Dark Side - the dark side of the city. While any city is riddled with crime, much of it takes place in this section of the city. Sex, drugs and bullets run the streets and whoever controlled all three controlled their block. Most citizens who know of this area know to avoid it, but those who have had a taste for the illegal life of a gang member find themselves craving more. Just be wary - more than one gang controls territory on the dark side and you don't want to get on the bad side of a rival or wander too far into police territory where the police patrol like any of the regular gangs. So take caution when daring to venture into these lands - it is no place for the faint of heart and has a low percentage of the population living past their thirties, but those who live here know how to live their lives to the fullest and take advantage of every minute, as they know it could easily be their last.
Gangs of the city
There are many gangs all fighting for control of the dark side of the city, and despite what members may say, most gangs can hold their own against one another, despite insults thrown on both sides about strength in numbers or combat. If captured by a rival gang, you may find yourself shot on sight or kept hostage and traded back to your gang for profit, both of which are very bad options for you. Some gangs are your allies, however, and will rush to your aid in a fight. It's best to know how to spot each gang member and where their territory is staked so you do not cross a gun barrel you don't want to see.

Leader: "Fang" Longwei
Sign: A traditionally done and styled dragon tattoo, starting from the wrist and going further up the arm with status. Often cover their face. When on missions or facing off with other gangs, will wear 'ninja suits' of mostly black with red. Allies: Red Scarves Rivals: Police Attitude: Loyalty to the clan is above all. The clan's mission is to protect their district and their people, so that is the mission of every clan member. They will not stand for discrimination or regime type organizations, and will protect almost any facing this as their own, usually by systematically destroying the 'organization' at fault. As opposed to guns, improvised weapons or bare handed fighting, those in this gang most often use years of stealth/battle training and precise, traditional weapons. As many of the members are descended from the same family, there are also quite a few with powers(mostly related to shadows), which are prized and trained to use their ability as an aid in the art of stealth. As a whole, they view all living in the gang areas as oppressed in some way, and therefore will avoid fighting with other gangs-but when their territory and the livelihoods of the civilians within is disturbed, all bets are off, and they strike for the throat without the offender even knowing what hit. |
Leader: Sky Masterson
Sign: A pair of rolled dice with skulls on them, usually located behind the ear or just above the pants line Allies: Police Rivals: Red Scarves, Kings Attitude: Of all gangs, the Company is the one who gets the most targeting from the police. It isn't for their actions - they could care less about what the other gangs do unless provoked. However, they have a view that very little of the city agrees on anymore - creatures are not humans. This group, however, has more money than most of the city combined in their back pockets, making them the playboys of the gang world. All have enough lawyers to get them out of trouble and enough cash to buy off anyone who gets in their way. Their leader, Sky, runs an underground fighting ring in which he forces supernaturals to fight one another while the rest of his gang places bets. When not fighting, supernaturals are kept in cages, often to be bought, sold or traded by buyers seeking to make a profit. Their prey is often the local gangs, as many supernaturals run with those groups. While most of the gangs dislike their style, it is hard to ignore the benefits that they reap financially and the risk that occurs when a gang gets on their bad side, as often large portions of said gang would go "missing" and be found mauled to death weeks or months later, having failed to survive the trials and matches. |
Leader: Ashton Wolfheart
Sign: A lion tattoo on the back, and a black knuckle ring on the middle finger Allies: Red Scarves, Police Rivals: The Company Attitude: Kill or be killed. Most were thrown out of their homes in their teens, and found a home with the Kings. This group would kill for their own, and make strong allies, because if they trust you, they'll fight to death by your side. Are they vicious and cruel? Yes, they torture others and kill many. Though, they don't make public shows of brutality often, when threatened, or feel someone is disrespecting them, they'll kill them on the spot. Some in this gang hold themselves like royalty and expect other gangs to bow at their feet, but the rest that aren't like that, well, they respect, but won't back down from other gangs. They don't expect others to bow, they know it's a bloody fight to be top dog. |
Leader: Alex McKinley
Sign: Red scarves or bandannas worn somewhere around the body Allies: Kings, Aragami Clan Rivals: The Company, Police Attitude: You get what you give, and the city is hardly exempt. The slums spat children that echoed their parents save for one crucial difference - these kids were willing to fight. One picked up their parents gun, and from then on out they ran together like a pack. Other gangs call them animals, especially when they see the physical manner in which the gang fights, often with fists and knives over guns. Any member of the red scarves will kill someone for looking at them the wrong way without any hesitation. They murder and steal for money, but often slip said money back to the civilians who live within their territory, trying to better the lives of their own in a low economy at the expense of other gangs and those with more money. While those who live outside the gang see them as hoodlums, those who live inside the gang, from members to civilians, see them as the Robin Hood of the slums, but other gangs know better than to see this as a weakness, as none are more dangerous than those who have nothing to lose. |

Chief of Police: Just got fired
Sign: Police Uniforms Allies: The Company, Kings Rivals: Red Scarves, Aragami Clan Attitude: There's multiple stations for the police in Silver Moon City. There's one for the main city, and the gang turf gets their own police force. However, most of the cops here don't make much more than the gang members themselves. Most here are working here instead of the main city for a reason, be it because they're just as or more corrupt than the gangs themselves or because they can't get a job in the main city. The risk here is high, as often the police are only called in to break up fights at the bar or between gang members themselves, and holding a gang member for long could lead to an attack on the police headquarters. Most of the time it doesn't come to that, however, as most members of the police know of the deals the force has made with most of the gangs - the gangs get close to free reign of the city so long as they remember to pay off the police and, should any of their members be arrested, they can rest assured that release will be timely and cheap/free. |
Want to get your gang some turf? Pm me, Grey, at Grey on SMC with the information about your gang similar to what you see above. I'll look over it and see if your gang would be able to hold their own against what runs through these streets, and make sure it isn't too similar to the already existing gangs. If it clears, I'll make a page for you!
